Born and raised in Richmond, Va., Jack earned his BA at Oklahoma University, then studied philosophy back in Richmond at VCU. He has designed and built 24 homes and a Victorian Country Inn near Snowshoe, WV, where he was the chef. He was a marble and tile contractor for three large hotels in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, where he moved his family in 1989, two weeks before hurricane Hugo destroyed their new home. He started collecting rare books in the ‘90’s.

"Ora and the Gem Star" is his first novel. He is currently writing a heart healthy cooking book “Save Yourself, You Can Do It!” Ora’s sequel is well under way.
